Part 2 of the whistle series is a little bit different than most of the “An Engineer’s Guide” blogs. Since you already know how a whistle works thanks to Part 1, I figured I would change things up a bit and talk about how your body works alongside the whistle.
Whistles are commonly carried by us backpacking folks. They are lightweight, small, inexpensive and seem trivial. The operating principle of a whistle however is far from trivial. This “An Engineer’s Guide” is geared towards helping you understand how our beloved whistles work.
