Three MMT 100 starts, three MMT 100 finishes. This may not have been the fastest 100 I have run. I certainly did not finish within my primary goal time. Despite these negatives, I am very happy with my result this year. I learned a lot, and I was able to battle through some time times.
My second race of the 2017 season, the Hashawha Hills 50k in Westminster, MD. I couldn’t have asked for better weather or trail conditions for a February ultra. Even better yet, I got to see some of my mid-Atlantic friends that I have met over the years as well as make some new friends!
My first race of the 2017 season, the Sean O’Brien 50k, was spectacular. I loved adventuring through a new area, the Santa Monica Mountains. This race is worth a try!
I finished my third 100 mile ultra at the Run Rabbit Run 100 in Steamboat Springs, CO. Here is how I got to my 31 hour 43 minute adventure. A time that earned a 70th place finish of 233 starters (top 30%).
I completed the MMT 100 trail race for the second year in a row this year. My goal was to finish in sub-30 hours. I surprised myself and did even better by finishing in 28:48 (a top 22% finish). Here is my lengthy story.
